The Liberal-National Government's Productivity Commission Inquiry is holding one of its meetings in Ipswich this Monday and we need to get out there to show that we won't let Weekend Rates be taken away.
The Productivity Commission has recommended slashing Sunday loadings by as much as 75 per cent — cutting the take home pay of hundreds of thousands of Australia's lowest paid workers, and further eroding the sacred place of the Australian weekend.
The cuts to weekend rates would also drain $72 million from the Ipswich economy and place further strain on an area already struggling with high levels of unemployment.
You are invited to a special rally to be held outside the location of the Productivity Commissions public hearing in Ipswich.
