Welcome Fest 2015

Queensland Unions will be holding an information stall at this year's Welcome Fest  organised by the Multicultural Development Association an celebrating Brisbane's Refugee Communities.

Let’s show our multicultural communities what a big heart our city has, and the positive role of unions, by attending the largest welcome festival for new arrivals in Australia – WELCOMEfest 2015.

We need volunteers to offer just a few hours on their Sunday at this great event, with dancing, music and fantastic food, to tell the community and new communities about the positive roles that unions play in our community. Can you help?

A free and vibrant community event, WELCOMEfest brings Brisbane’s diverse cultural communities together to create welcome, discover cultures and celebrate everyone’s contribution to multicultural Australia.

As part of the World Refugee Week celebrations, WELCOMEfest allows you to travel around the world in one day without hopping on a plane!  Experience world culture through: international cuisine; music and dance performances; DJs; workshops and displays; a dynamic sports program; engaging children’s activities; and so much more.

With over 17,000 people attending each year, WELCOMEfest has become one of Australia’s largest multicultural festivals and is one of the sunshine state’s signature community events.

WELCOMEfest 2015 is proudly presented by MDA and supported by Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government.
